<p>Following on from Jess&rsquo;s great 2008 season and her latest win at the Manchester World Cup, winning gold in the Team Sprint. She has been nominated for the BBC Junior Sportswoman Award. This will be held on Sunday the 7th&nbsp;December at the National Motorcycle Museum Solihull.</p>
<p>Jess actually won this award last year following on from her 2007 season, so it maybe a big ask to win this prestigious award again and competition is very hot. Nevertheless 2008 was another record breaker for her so&hellip;who knows&hellip;.</p>
<p>&nbsp;We will keep you posted&hellip;&hellip;.</p>

<p>Anna Blyth and Jessica Varnish of Great Britain were in action in the Women's Team Sprint race during day two of the UCI Cycling World Cup on November 1, 2008 in Manchester, England. And went on to take the gold in the team sprint for GB.</p>
<p>Jess Varnish at just 17 years of age, needed special permission from her high school in Bromsgrove to compete in the event, but with such a fantastic result, she can rest assured they made the right choice in allowing her to compete.</p>
<p>Jess now takes a well earned 3 week break, and with her 18th birthday on the horizon, there will surely be a double celebration for this up and coming local cyclist.</p>
